Roses are red

The Romans believed white roses grew where the tears of Venus fell as she mourned the loss of her beloved Adonis. Myth also has it that Venus’ son Cupid accidentally shot arrows into the rose garden when a bee stung him, and it was the “sting” of the arrows that caused the roses to grow thorns. And when Venus walked through the garden and pricked her foot on a thorn, it was the droplets of her blood which turned the roses red.

Sapling

“We could say that the totality, life wants the sapling to become a tree, but the sapling doesn’t see itself as separate from life and so wants nothing for itself. It is one with what life wants. That’s why it isn’t worried or stressed. And, if it has to die prematurely, it dies with ease.”
Eckhart Tolle

The ring

“I fell into a burning ring of fire,
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns,
The ring of fire, the ring of fire”
Johnny Cash – the ring of fire 🎵

Lotus

“There is the mud, and there is the lotus that grows out of the mud. We need the mud in order to make the lotus.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

When the lotus flower first begins to sprout, it does so underwater. Though conditions are tough and muddy, the lotus heeds the call of the sun each morning, breaks the surface of the water and blooms untouched by the mud; each petal remains clean and pure. Closing at night, it sinks below the water’s surface, only to resurface again in the morning.

Like a moss

Moss was the first plant on earth. Algae adapted to life on earth, evolving into lichen, liverworts and moss.
Mosses live all over the world. There are over 10,000 species of moss worldwide.
Mosses don’t produce pollen, seeds or flowers. They reproduce via spores.
Mosses collectively provide more carbon offset than all the trees in the world.

Blue hole

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupery
